Bulletins – New Feature

The Bulletins blog brings our regular e-mail newsletters, notices, alerts, and updates directly into REsearch, ensuring that you are kept up to date. The latest headlines will appear in the REsearch sidebar, and you will also be able to review an archive of previous announcements.

News will now be even more timely and accessible via this blog, which you can add to your browser’s favorites or bookmarks and visit from anywhere, without even logging into the system.

If you have any questions about the new HIS Bulletins system, or have a suggestion about how we can make it even more useful to you, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

WOW! Listing of the Week

WOW Sample

We are currently accepting submissions for a new weekly article series that AlohaLiving.com will be starting in December.

WOW! Listing of the Week: Do you have a listing that has something about it that makes you say, “Wow!” Perhaps the property has an interesting history, a completely unique feature, a view that is over the top, or something that clearly sets it apart from the rest of houses in the neighborhood. If so, then we want to hear about it.

Each week, the AlohaLiving.com staff will choose ONE listing per island to feature as the Aloha Living Network WOW! Listing of the Week. The listing with the most WOW will also be featured on the AlohaLiving.com homepage.

To submit a listing for consideration, please e-mail the following information by November 26, 2007 to wow@alohaliving.com.

  1. MLS Number of the Property – Property must be Actively on the market, no contingent or under contract listings will be accepted.
  2. Two Photos-Please attach two photos of the property to your e-mail. If possible, include one exterior and one interior shot.
  3. Why It’s Got Wow– Please write a couple of short paragraphs about why this particular property has the WOW factor. No more than one or two paragraphs, please. If your listing is chosen to be a WOW! Listing of the Week, we will contact you for more details about the property.

The Fine Print: Only one listing may be submitted per agent.

WOW! Listing of the Week is a trial article series for the month of December. If the program goes well, it may be extended, and we will ask for more submissions. There are no guarantees that your property will be chosen to be the WOW! Listing of the Week, however if your listing is chosen, there will be no fee for having your listing in the article series.

REsearch Maps – Enhancements

We received a lot of feedback from our users since the last REsearch Maps enhancement. We’ve been working hard ever since and have created a new and improved look that we’re confident you’ll love! We updated the tool bar and cleaned up the map layers so the maps run quicker and are more appealing.

To help introduce these changes, we have created a video that will show the enhanced REsearch maps.

Public Record links to Condo Documents

Please try out this great enhancement! All subscribers with regular MLS and TMK service now have the convenience of accessing condo documents by just clicking on links in the TMK record for any condo project in the State. You will notice a section like the one shown below in each TMK record for condo properties.

Map Service Improvements

We’ve completed our testing. The Map Service enhancements are live and ready for you to enjoy. This release includes many new features that were developed based largely on your requests and suggestions, and also by our striving to provide you with the newest map tools available in mapping services.

Subscriber Designation Field
In REsearch Update My Profile Release Postponed

We so wanted to give you a place where you could enter your hard earned Certifications and Designations. We just want to make sure that they appear on all of the forms and displays formats properly. You will be notified when this enhancement is ready for release. We thank you for your patience while we continue work on this.

Rules Highlights …..
URL/Website Addresses in the Public Remarks

Generally, URL/Website addresses are not permitted in the Public Remarks. Normally they contain listor or seller/owner information that is prohibited in the Public Remarks. They are only permitted if they contain photos and other property information, without providing information for listor, listing office, seller/owner or any other party affiliated with them. There should not be any links to any of this information or to other websites as well. The restrictions on photos and v-tours also apply to websites. There should be no “for sale” or listor/listing office signs or pictures of persons in the websites. There are very few websites, if any, that do not contain information that is in violation of the rules. If you have a URL/website address in the Public Remarks of a listing, it will be flagged in our search for the presence of “www.”, “.com”, “.net”, etc. in our auditing process. More times than not, we end up requesting that the listors remove them from the Public Remarks. Should you have any questions in regards to this issue, please feel free to contact our Tech Support team or Diana Haraguchi, Exec. Asst. to the President/CEO. Contact information is available at the end of this bulletin.

Video & Virtual Tours
Automated Auditing Program

We have an automated auditing program in place that alerts us to the addition of any video or virtual tours (aka V-tours) to listings on a daily basis. These V-tours are scrutinized for information for listor, seller/owner, or any other party affiliated with them. We also review V-tours for any promotional or marketing information made available for the benefit of any entity or party, and for any links to this information as well as to other websites. V-tours should be “unbranded” and should not in any way provide the viewer information identifying the listor, listing office or seller/owner. Acceptable is the name of the tour production companies, but no contact information on or links to contact these companies may be provided. We will soon be proactively auditing V-tours that were submitted to our service prior to our activating the automated audit program. So please remove or revise your V-tours if you have any linked to your listings that contain information that is not in compliance with the rules.

Enhancement Update… Available Now!
New forms in REsearch include Spell Check

We have released new forms into our system (Rev. 4/07 Release 11/07). With the new forms, some of the issues users were experiencing have been fixed, and alignment of the text in some of the fields has been improved. Because of these changes you will need to download the latest version of Acrobat Reader. You can do this through ‘ http://www.adobe.com’ or if you go to our login page you will notice a link under the username and password area. A new feature you will receive by installing this upgrade is a spell checker . This has been among the most requested feature by our customers. Now as you type through your forms, words will be underlined with a red line if they are not spelled correctly. You can then right click the underlined word and pick from a list of suggested spellings. If you run into any problems with the new forms please call our Tech Support staff or send an email to TechSupport@HawaiiInformation.com .

We are still working on a spell checking feature for the Listing Input Form aka Data Entry form.

We are rigorously testing improvements to our Map Service and have addressed problems that were encountered with our last attempt to release them. Customer input and suggestions provided to us at that time, have helped us to resolve issues that caused us to roll back the last release. This release will include many new features that were developed based largely on your requests and suggestions, and also by our striving to provide you with the newest map tools available in mapping services.

These map service enhancements are also targeted for release on November 14th. We will send out another announcement confirming its release on that date. Once these are released, please let us know if you encounter any problems with them, and do feel free to share your comments and suggestions with us.

No room for your Certifications or Designations?

We’re adding a new field in REsearch!

We appreciate that many of our customers have taken extra steps to attend courses and classes to further their knowledge of the industry and become experts in specific areas. The rewards for this effort are the certifications and designations that these customers have earned that they would like to be able to display after their names on all forms and brochures that they generate through REsearch. Up to now, we’ve had you add these after your last name in the Update Your Profile last name field. Some of you have been so ambitious that there is not enough room in that field to accommodate your last name and all of your hard earned certifications and designations. Therefore, we are adding a field called “Subscriber Designations” in which you will have the ability to update all of your certifications and designations as you desire. Once this field is available, we will ask that you remove the certifications and designations from the last name field and type them in this new field.
